Dear Mr & Mrs Henderson
This is to let you know of my
safe arrival at Camp Shelby, Miss. and
to thank you for the kindnesses shown
me during my stay in Wisconsin.
You were more than swell to us
and you don’t know how much this
meant to us fellows so far away from
home. Please be assured that we
appreciated your kindnesses and I only
hope that some day I will be able to
reciprocate.
It was hard leaving Wisconsin,
which was like home to us, but after
all we soldiers have a job to do and
I assure you that we will do our best.
